The app doesn't use actual time for anything. You can't design locks to start and end at specific times. This is because there's no option in the app for the user to select their timezone.

I won't be adding this option into the app because introducing timezones and having locks and check ins work on actual time would require a fair bit of work. But I agree it would be more convenient if some of these things were based off the lockees timezone

You may see this being added to a replacement app in the future.

I can't remember the mechanics behind check-ins but yes that does sound right. I'm certain a check-in countdown starts from when they last checked in. It definitely starts from when they start the lock too. This isn't a bug.

I have just received an email from GoDaddy saying that they will be patching the host server at any time between the 17th February 2021 10:30:00 GMT and 18th February 2021 19:00:00 GMT.

They have said that we may experience up to 30 minutes of intermittent interruption to the hosting services while they install the patches.

If you lose connection for a brief period during those times then that may well be the reason.

I'm sure there will be a replacement app ready before the end of the year that you could transfer your account over to.

Having an offline version that isn't supported by anyone could be dangerous for those that do bondage locks.

There would also be a lot of users in chastity and bondage locks without any emergency release option because I wouldn't want to sell keys for an app that I no longer support.

I suspect I will be around running ChastiKey until the end of the year to give other teams of developers time to get something to replace ChastiKey, so its not something that will close down in a few months.

I've disabled freezing and resetting on bot locks. Resetting causes the locks to run for way longer than most want. And freezing just happens too regularly. Enough to be annoying and silly

I'm not aware of any of those issues you've reported and so far no one else has mentioned them, specifically the QR code problem.

Not trusting a keyholder won't cause lags. However the server can be a bit temperamental and users can experience delays with updates. I suspect other factors also cause issues like the web firewall restricting users based on location, and IP addresses if you're using VPN. I do use VPN with the app and it works fine, but only when routing through certain countries.

They do check to see if you've added time and they can sometimes factor that in when deciding if they will unlock you

There are two known developments in progress but one has gone a bit quiet and they wanted to work on their own.

The other development is an open source one that's very active which has 2 or 3 users working on it. They have their project on GitHub. I think the language is typescript but may be wrong. If you need information about it then let me know and I'll dig out some links. I don't think they're at a stage where it is close to working but they're very active.

@Key535i Do you want me to trigger an unlock? I can see it's a test lock, so maybe you're not actually locked. If not then you can delete it. I won't be able to spend much time for a while to see why it's ran for so long. There's no need to keep it running as I can look at it later, even after it has been deleted.

The app doesn't work on some older Android versions. Not sure which ones but does still work for most.

You could try an older version:

Or use an Android emulator like BlueStacks on a computer where you will be able to use the latest version
