ChastiKey Chat / Re: Zoe lock
« on: August 13, 2020, 04:15:36 AM »
I did a lock with Chase as a test. It started out at about 5 days. The first few days, he froze the lock, unfroze it, froze it again, added a few hours, reset the lock. Then after that, he started adding a day to the lock every 20-30 hours. It is now on day 20 with 35 days left. I am not sure it will ever end unless he randomly unlocks it. I am glad this was only a test. I don't mind a few surprises, but to have a lock go 4x longer than initially set is crazy when you can't have any discussion with the keyholder.

I am now on day 33 with 64 days left. The lock has only been reset one time and that was around 20 days ago.

I hadn't used the app in a while and decided to see what had changed.

I did a fixed lock with Chase as a test. I think I gave it between 5-10 days as the min/max range, but at this point, I am not really sure. When it started it showed it would be locked around 6 days.

The first few days, Chase froze the lock, unfroze it, froze it again, added a few hours, reset the lock.

Then after three of four days, he started adding a day to the lock every 20-30 hours.

The past several days, he has been adding 2-3 days at a time.

It is now on day 20 with 35 days left.

I am not sure it will ever end unless he randomly unlocks it. I am glad this was only a test. I don't mind a few surprises, but to have a lock go 4x longer than initially set is crazy when you can't have any discussion with the keyholder.

It only seems appropriate to have a lock with all 20s. 20 green, 20 of each yellow, 20 red, 20 double, 20 freeze, etc. Could last more than a month... How lucky do you think you will be?

You can try getting a lockout box. They are designed to take multiple locks.

I finally got out. The lock lasted 23 days, with several days added at the beginning, then nothing for the past two weeks.

Are you good at avoiding the double cards? This lock starts without any red cards. It has 10 Green, 10 Yellow, and 10 Double Up cards. You can pick another card every 15 minutes... Do you feel lucky?

What type of lock are you using? I started with the 3-4 digit locks and had the same problem. I moved to an electric safe that allows for an 8 digit code. That works for me. If you are using the padlocks, try buying multiple locks. Set the first lock, then the second, and third locks. By the time you setup the third lock and go through the effort of setting it, you hopefully will forget the combination to the first or second lock. Look on Amazon for "group locks". I had never heard of them, but they are ways to put multiple locks on a single container. If you lock the key in the container using three padlocks, each running a different lock, you will have to get all three open before you can use the key.

I think three people have loaded the lock... there is room for more. I haven't played with changing anything yet.

General Chat / Re: Combination Safe

I was thinking of using tape to keep the batteries in place if the cover isn't replaced properly.

Ultimately, it was my fault. I have two master keys to open the safe, but stored them both together, so if I couldn't find one, I couldn't find either key. I am thinking of designing a container to key one of the spare keys. (If I just put the key in a drawer, I will eventually use it.) I will either lock it with a combination lock where I don't know the combination and have to try all 1,000 or 10,000 combinations to open the lock or break the container open.

I saw a product called KeySure that is designed for those times when you need to give a neighbor a key that they would only use in an emergency. Once the container is closed, the only way to open is to break the container. If the neighbor returns the key still inside the KeySure container, you know they didn't use the key to go inside. I thought I might be able to use that concept and seal a key in laminated sheets. I would have to physically cut the key free which might reduce the temptation to use the key, but have it still available in an emergency

What is your setup that allows you to have seven locks? Do you have a box with seven locks or nested boxes where each box has a another locked box inside with the final key to open your chastity device?

How to we use this? Do we have to manually copy a file to our device or is this something we run on a computer?

I have been playing with creating locks for myself and figured I would share one on the forum. This is a fixed lock that lasts somewhere between 50 and 500 hours.

General Chat / Combination Safe
« on: August 10, 2019, 07:03:19 PM »
I mess up and had to break into my safe. I left the cover off the battery area when I changed the code (you have to remove the cover to press the red button). The batteries fell out and I couldn't find the keys. I tried a few YouTube videos that suggested ways to open a safe without the key/combination, but they didn't work. I eventually decided a screwdriver to pry it open would be faster.

So, now I need something new (and I will make sure I don't lose the keys). Any suggestions? Something that doesn't require removing the battery cover to change the code. My last safe was a First Alert 1036885 Digital Safe 0.23 Cubic Ft

Thanks for explaining how it works. This does what I was asking for, but not how I expected things to work.

I had always wondered why it let me pick a card when I start a new lock. I would have expected the first pick to be after the interval of the lock had passed. I had always set the lock with multiple green cards to avoid the chance of getting lucky and picking the green card first. I guess, I didn't have to worry about that happening.
