ChastiKey Chat / Re: Increasing card caps
« on: April 30, 2020, 04:11:44 PM »
To be honest the 15 minute draws was never created for long locks. Yes it could be increased so that you could play for a year like a daily draw but would you really want to be drawing every 15 minutes for a year?

You haven't said how much you want them increased by

Thanks Keven,

I was thinking an increased card cap could be tied to the trusted keyholder option and/or it could be it's own separate option? The increase could also be tied to having both the trusted keyholder and cumulative options selected?

I'd suggest upping the red and yellow cards each to 800 or 900 for the number of cards that can be in play. The increased card counts would reduce the blunting of double up cards, allow for longer locks for intermediate to advanced users and increase the jeopardy and mind fuck factor capability for keyholders.

The initial settings caps are fine in my opinion.

Hello everyone - I'm new here and was hoping for a little help to get started. I'm already locked in a cage. I do have an electronic safe and a long distance keyholder that has downloaded the app onto her phone.

Is there a way to pair my safe to the app on her phone so that the key can be locked in it and so the safe can only be opened through the app on her phone?

Thank you in advance,

QC

No, there is currently no way to "pair" the app with your safe.

After loading a lock shared from your keyholder, you'll have to reset the combination on your safe to the combination provided by the app.

ChastiKey Chat / Increasing card caps

Would it be possible to include an option to increase the caps on the number of cards? On 15 minute duration locks, the caps frequently blunt the impact of double-up cards.

If you have a partner available, you can have them set up your locks so you never have access to the combination for the duration of the lock.  8)

Found this site this morning and am testing it out. I’m pretty good with numbers, so I thought there wouldn’t be a problem remembering the combination of the lock - I was wrong! After going through the screen to help forget the number, I tried the lock with what I thought was the combination and none of it worked! Success!
I admit, I locked it by itself for now to see if it works. Next step will be to actually lock my cage on for a short time.
Baby steps, lol

Welcome !!! 😁

You are right, step by step is the good method.

For the Lock you can also put the keys in a box closed by 2 or 3 padlocks...

The code number will be longer sor more difficult to remember 😉

Along this same line, you can also use a 12 digit combination in the app, 3 combination locks and a lock-out hasp.

So technically you know the code for the lock the entire time?  Or could write it down.

After the app presents you with the code to reset your padlock, a series of numbers are presented on the screen and are audible. Some people select to use a code with more numbers than their lock requires and use every other number to help forget the code.

Personally, I use a "Wordlock" with letters rather than numbers and a chart to convert the numbers from the app to letters. The process seems to work pretty well.

If you have a partner handy, you can also have them complete the process of resetting the combination and you'll never see the combination until you unlock.

How does ChastiKey work with real locks?  I get that when I find a green key I get a combination, but how does that relate to a real lock?

Does my KH set the lock?

You put your the key to your cage inside of a lock box or tool box with a lockable hasp and use a luggage style resetable combination lock or a combination key safe.

Reset the combination on the lock to the numbers from the app. The combination numbers will be displayed at the end of the lock session.

I think there are a lot of factors that go into chastity "security".

A reasonably well fitting device and well designed key safe are only part of the overall picture. Having someone else holding you accountable and personal integrity also play a significant role. If you really set out to escape, intentionally cheat or intentionally leave design flaws in your overall security system, then you will likely be successful.

Considering however, that most users have at minimum consented to actively participating in chastity and many more who have sought out chastity as a kink, they generally are not seeking to cheat, escape or otherwise defeat security measures, they therefore only need the minimum amount of security necessary to achieve a deterrent factor.

ChastiKey Chat / Re: How do remote key holders work?
« on: April 05, 2020, 12:08:53 AM »
I'm not new to chastity, it's something I've been into on and off for years now - mostly self-locking.  I've been toying with the app for nearly a week now and it's great fun.

What I'd like to understand is the idea of a remote key holder.  I've never used one.  What level of interaction is required?  Could I do this fairly anonymously by using the shared lock and just having it run?  Would the key holder be able to contact me and demand other things such as tasks?

This area is new to me.  Any recommendations or general advice on this would be really helpful for me.

You may wish to load a shared lock from a unfamiliar/untrusted keyholder as a "test" lock to get a feel for how long you could potentially be locked in your device. Personally, I would recommend against loading a lengthy shared lock until you're certain your device fits properly without problems.

If you have a second phone, Ipad or tablet, you could also create a lock on one device and share it to your second device to have a better understanding of the options available to keyholders.

Some keyholders monitor and update their shared locks while others do not. Generally, keyholders will mention the amount of interaction (if any) they are are seeking of their lockees in the posting of the lock. Keyholders who update their locks will often include the general range of the length of lock even if they don't tell you exactly when it will end.

It's wise to keep a spare key available for emergencies.
You can place the key into a sealed envelope, or you may entrust it to someone you trust and (given Coronavirus) live with.
