ChastiKey Chat / Fixed lock with Chase
« on: September 27, 2020, 08:59:13 PM »
Back on July 11th, I created a Fixed lock with Chase as a test to see how mean he would be. It was only a test and there wasn't any need to get out. I don't remember the exact duration, but I think it was to last between 1 and 2 weeks.

The lock is now on day 78 and has 97 days left until it unlocks. I believe he has reset the lock two times and add an average of 1-3 days to the lock per 24 hour period. I don't see how the lock will ever end unless Chase randomly decides to unlock it.

My recommendation is to avoid using any of the Bots for a lock unless you are willing to pay to unlock it. Maybe with the cards, there would be a chance of drawing the green cards to get out, but with a fixed lock, it isn't going to happen.

I have been tempted to delete the lock, but have kept it running out of curiosity to see how it plays out.

Request / Share / Exchange ChastiKey Locks / The Roaring 20s Lock

It only seems appropriate to have a lock with all 20s. 20 green, 20 of each yellow, 20 red, 20 double, 20 freeze, etc. Could last more than a month... How lucky do you think you will be?

Are you good at avoiding the double cards? This lock starts without any red cards. It has 10 Green, 10 Yellow, and 10 Double Up cards. You can pick another card every 15 minutes... Do you feel lucky?

I have been playing with creating locks for myself and figured I would share one on the forum. This is a fixed lock that lasts somewhere between 50 and 500 hours.

General Chat / Combination Safe
« on: August 10, 2019, 07:03:19 PM »
I mess up and had to break into my safe. I left the cover off the battery area when I changed the code (you have to remove the cover to press the red button). The batteries fell out and I couldn't find the keys. I tried a few YouTube videos that suggested ways to open a safe without the key/combination, but they didn't work. I eventually decided a screwdriver to pry it open would be faster.

So, now I need something new (and I will make sure I don't lose the keys). Any suggestions? Something that doesn't require removing the battery cover to change the code. My last safe was a First Alert 1036885 Digital Safe 0.23 Cubic Ft

ChastiKey Chat / Suggestion: Variable lock starts frozen
« on: August 01, 2019, 10:48:42 PM »
With a variable lock, there is the chance of picking the green card right away. If you get lucky, it doesn't matter how many cards were in the deck. I have been playing with using multiple green cards, but that isn't quite the effect I want. What if there was a way to set a lock with 10 cards, but set it so the person can't pick the first card until a specified number of hours or days had passed. I know I can create a fixed lock that will run a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 6, but I would rather have a variable lock that runs for a minimum of 3 days then lets me start picking cards until unlocked. While I can hold off on picking cards for 3 days, I want the app to enforce that instead.

ChastiKey Chat / Quick Picks
« on: May 08, 2019, 02:01:11 AM »
I was playing with a lock set to chances every 15 minutes and cumulative with card information hidden. I think I had like 100 red, 100 yellow, and 20 green. After 12 hours, I had 48 picks. Even with the animations turned off, it takes 3 clicks for every pick. Since yellow cards and the go again cards don't count against the picks, it can take more than 10 minutes to catch up, at least it does on my tablet which is not as fast as my phone when it comes to animations. I would like a way to just click next and have a random card selected for me so that I can do all of my picks until I run out, reach a rest or draw the freeze card.

ChastiKey Chat / Repeat last lock
« on: April 15, 2019, 12:55:08 AM »
I am new and played around with creating 2 or 3 locks to see how the software works and get an idea of what settings I would want to pick. I did like the level of uncertainty that comes from having to pick a card. All of the locks I created were set as being for "Myself" and I used the 15M times to make it short enough to get an idea of how things work.

One thing that surprised me was that once a lock was unlocked, there wasn't a way to use it a second time (or the settings since I would need a new code). I figured that if I liked the settings that I would be able to use that as a starting point. But, each time I went to create a lock, I was back starting from scratch.

Did I miss something? Can I use a lock a 2nd time? Is this a feature that has been requested before?
