Welcome to the ChastiKey forums. This page details all the rules, guidelines and expectations.

  • Treat other members with the respect they deserve. This should go without saying, but treat others like you would like to be treated!
  • Insulting and flaming or personal attacks against forum staff or members will be not tolerated.
  • Do not upload or advertise illegal content, in any way, shape or form. To do so; puts yourself at risk of moderation.
  • Do not debate, post about, or otherwise communicate anything that is centered on hate speech/political musings/etc.

  • Please do not post threads text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary.
  • Please do not share your ChastiKey 20 character user id to anyone, or ask for someone's user id. User ids are not the same as usernames
  • ChastiKey is an English language site, so please write all public forum posts in English.

1. I have no problem you offering keyholding services (including paid for services) using ChastiKey on these forums (please post in the "Request / Share / Exchange ChastiKey Locks" board). This isn't considered as spam, providing you're not flooding the board with the same posts, and it's not upsetting or annoying other users.

Would you be interested in bots controlling your locks? Just toying with an idea at the moment. An idea that's probably more suitable to those that use ChastiKey on their own, i.e. those that create and use their own locks.

How interested would you be if there was a small selection of bots to choose from, each with their own basic personality that would create a lock for you (less options available to you than the current options) and might at times increase/decrease the duration depending on their kindness/meanness level. For example if you pick a kind one and say you want a lock that lasts about a week at most, you will get a lock that lasts about a week. If however you pick a truly mean bot and ask for one that lasts about a week, they're probably going to ignore your request (they're mean and in control obviously) and give you one that lasts 3 weeks instead, and they will probably change it throughout the duration leaving you with no idea as to when you get to unlock.

Of course there will need to be restrictions and limitations put in place as to what locks they choose and how often they change them, I can't have them turning a one week lock into a 100 day lock as that's just crap and nobody wants that. But turning a week lock into one that lasts a 3 weeks or a month probably isn't that bad (you did pick the mean bot afterall). They will also apply to the same restrictions real keyholders have using the app which is they can only add so many days/cards to your lock each day. So they won't be able to add 20 days/cards each hour. They might not get around to changing your lock at all, what with them being busy looking after other peoples locks too.

Let me know your thoughts? Who would use them?

Thanks

Kevin

I may share your locks via social networks and other public forums. I just wanted to mention that I may share your locks and posts via social networks like Twitter, Facebook Pages, Instagram, Pinterest, and public forums to help pull in a little more interest with ChastiKey and help get a few extra users for your locks, or to find a keyholder for you. I will only share locks and posts that you've shared publicly online (not just these forums)

At the moment I've been sharing most of the locks in this forum via Twitter but will start looking at other channels soon.

I will assume that you're all ok with this because you've publicly shared them, but if not, then please let me know and I'll do my best to not share yours.

Don't forget to change your username in the app from the default CKU one each user is assigned when installing the app. I will only share locks where your app and forum usernames match or are similar.

Thanks

Kevin

Changing your username in ChastiKey Having a username in ChastiKey isn't required but if you're sharing and loading locks I'd recommend changing your username from the default CKU* ones that each user gets assigned  because it looks better and you'll probably stand out more.

If you're creating locks for others to load it would be better for the people loading your locks if they saw "Locked by <Insert cool username here>" than "Locked by CKU123"

Likewise if you're loading a lock you'd probably stand out a little more in the keyholders list of users that they have to manage if you had a username that didn't look like "CKU123". To the keyholder you would look like someone that's actually using the app and lock and not someone that's just loaded the lock to see what it's all about without actually locking away their key etc. so you're probably more likely to get your locks modified by the keyholder, especially if they have lots of CKU* users in their list.

You don't need to re-create locks or reload locks if you've changed your username after creating or loading the lock. The new username will show on both sides once you've changed it.

To change your username in ChastiKey click on the profile icon at the top right of the app, above the list of locks, or access your profile page from the menu within the app.

I will only share your locks via other sites if your app and forum names match or are very similar.

Re: Mini Game Feasibility? Hi Naughtia, as always, thanks for your suggestions.

Mini games are doable, partly because ChastiKey was built in a game engine so that makes it a little easier. But with any new option/feature that's related to chance it needs to be so that you lose more than you win as I don't want to make it so easy for people to unlock early. Not because I like the idea of everyone being locked but because if it becomes too easy a lot of people would probably find it too weak and move on.

I'm not able to say that I can definitely add mini games in but I do try to take on board everyone's suggestions and most of them get added to list of things to look at some point when time allows.

There are a number of things that I'd like to look at first once the next version has been released but there will be a time when I can work on larger developments like these mini games.

ChastiKey API I've been asked by a number of users if ChastiKey works with bluetooth or internet controlled lock boxes, or if it's something that it will do in the future.

This is something I'm most definitely interested in but I've never worked on an API so I'm not 100% certain about it all. I understand the basics but because I've never created one before or even worked with an existing one it's a bit new to me.

I will look into it soon by looking at existing API's, but if you're developing a lock box that can be controlled remotely or have an existing one and have an idea what data you'd need to be sent back and forth to get it working then please let me know.

Re: 2 to 4 hour session for you !
Out after 45 minutes... - quite easy...

This is something I'm going to address next and will try and look at tonight. I will try and get it working so that if the lock was set between 2 and 4 hours with a the slider (like this one) then it should last at least 2 hours before you find the green. Whether that means the green isn't in the deck until the 2 hours have passed, or it is in the deck but it's impossible to pick because it's switched around before revealing, I don't know. The latter option is the easiest.

Of course if it had yellows and within the first hour the yellows got rid of all of the reds leaving only yellows and the green then it will have to be possible to find the green.

Re: What do you want out of your ChastiKey experience? When I do use ChastiKey. I prefer self locking, sometimes with Zoe the bot. I like real keyholders but don't really enjoy it with strangers as I don't often feel comfortable, or even know how to interact with them, and rarely would I send the first message.

Oh and I have access to the database so I can see my combination whenever I want >.< because of that I've often got the keys with me in my pocket. My willpower is at least getting a little stronger from it all :)

I fall into 1 and 2.

Re: ChastiKey Tickers Glad you like it :)

Now that I know what I'm doing I can get the one created for users that are locked quite quickly. Within the next day or two I'd say.

I've fixed the size problem too. They are now showing the proper size.
