Title: Suggestion: Release options
Post by: fun2blocked on February 27, 2019, 12:58:31 AM
I am really enjoying this app.  Thanks, Kevin for your dedication and work on it.

My KH has set up variable locks for me and when i finally find all of the green cards, i get the option screen to either unlock, give the KH the option or to have a 50/50 chance.  If i have indicated that i trust the KH, is there any way that this screen could go first to the KH?  Then they could decide if they choose, I choose or the system chooses.   Could something like that work?  I like the idea of that little bit of control being removed from me.

Keep up the good work and i look forward to more fun being locked.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure I like that too much but happy to leave it open for discussion and other opinions.

It would have to be added as another option as I wouldn't want it forced on everyone.

Could this option possibly be implimented by adding this option at the same time you verify that you trust a keyholder, but as two completely separate options? Because this suggestion sounds perfect for users who are locked by people they already know and trust.
And for self locking with bots it could just be added in as another option in the set up page, but with a maximum number of times the bot is allowed to keep the user locked instead of released
If you decide to give the keyholder with this choice, it could simply notify the locked person of they key holders decision.
This would give the person being locked a chance to choose, while avoiding any forced scenarios, while also avoiding liability on the your part.

I am still trying to get familiar with how things work and haven't created a shared lock. Giving up the decision would mean waiting until the key holder checks the app and notices. It could add several hours before you can be unlocked.at the least there would need to be a time limit for them to act.

@DogMike there is already a time limit of 3 or 6 hours depending on the original lock settings. If they don't decide within the set time, you as a lockee get to decide again.
