Strange Bot behaviour
« on: January 17, 2019, 05:46:28 PM »
I noticed sth strange while playing with the bots. I let a bot keyhold my lock and made a variable lock for an average of around 7 days. I chose Zoe because I wanted it to be a bit meaner. She updated the lock and after around 24 h she just released me. The same happened around 3 times that I got unlocked after around a day of locking. I switched to Chase and he did the same. I was very disappointed because I like the card system and I wanted a mean bot, but getting released so early at locks that should have an average of 1 week is sad.
I tried sth now and made a fixed lock for 2 days with Zoe and lets say I discovered a pretty new Zoe. During the last 33 hours of locking time she added around 20 h of locking time to my lock. I dont want to complain. I love when she is mean and adds unexpected time to the lock but im just confused why she is behaving so differently when using different kinds of locks.

Thanks for the feedback. It's hard to comment on why you were let out early without knowing how the variable locks were set up. But I can say that the bots are a little random and haven't been updated in months. The bots generally work ok though from my experience.

hello. First of all, really love this app! Connects with my mindset completely. :P

But I have the same experience as Ara Criat. I am playing with bot Chase. The simulation showed a release time of 7 to 26 hours. Variable lock. Still had to do about 20 cards, but after 2 hours the bot released me. Maybe the bot should only add or reduce cards, but not release you? That this can only be achieved with the cards.

Have tried some more runs in the last days and always the get released pretty early by the bot (Chase).

Chase works better with a fixed lock than with a variable lock in my experience. I loved it when he started to add extra time. A lot of extra time actually. And then he released me just several hours after the original time so that it actually wasn't too long.

The last few tries with Zoe bot have mixed results.

Bot = Zoe
Variable
15M
Cumulative
4 Digits
Red 10-46
Yellow 10, 5, 5
Freeze Cards Bot Decides
Double Up   Bot Decides
Reset   Bot Decides
Multiple Green Cards = 4
Show Card information = Bot Decides
Fake Combinations = No
Enable Early Release with Key = Yes
Number of Keys for Emergency = 1

I was released after Nine hours which is average.
What is strange is after drawing a reset in the first four cards and a double-up in the next 10, I thought it might take a while with 100 cards to draw.  Instead, I was unlocked.

I didn't draw any green cards. I asked for Multiple Greens = 4
Zoe sent two updates adding reds and yellows.

Kevin, I sent you this msg via DM with my User ID

The developer replied directly to me via DM saying your lock time is based on the number of red cards, and it's possible to get unlocked even if you don't find any green cards.

Not a bug, but a feature!  ;)

More of a failsafe that I've yet to improve on. One day!

It does make sense when you consider they’re run randomly - a mean bot could turn 1 day into a month or 2 if let loose.  Of course some want that and if the “trust bot” and smarter AI is created that’ll be great, though i understand how hard it is to develop that.

IMO, while the bots are fun, a real KH will give you the best “no control” experience.

Otherwise, you’re better off just pre determining the odds as then it’ll stick to it with no KH.  No random updates of course, but if you have a card range and keep it hidden you’re just as clueless.

For example, set a lock (hidden) 1h cumulative with 2-10 greens, 10-40 reds, ignore yellows (or don’t), and say 1-5 each of resets, freezes and double ups.  That creates a tough and very unpredictable lock, moreso than the bots can do given the understandable failsafe.  It could be a couple hours, could be days.  That’s the best you’ll get for unpredictable without a KH, and even then, most tend towards longer lock ups so if you want that hope of it perhaps not being so bad, it’s a decent option.
