I have an igloohome lockbox with 7 digit code, am i right in thinking that for solo play it relies on myself not remembering the code? And if i wrote the code down it ruin the whole game?

That is correct. But the same applies for keyholder controlled locks. It's not a problem though if you wrote the combinations down a couple of times while you test out the app.
