I need suggestions on where to keep spare Key
« on: June 20, 2019, 01:30:33 PM »
I'm pretty new to this and I can use some advice.  After I lock away my key, knowing that the spare key is around takes away some of the excitement because I know I can always get out.  But, I know I need to be able to access the spare key in case I need to.  So, it's a little tricky.

Does anyone have suggestions or can share how they deal with this?  Thank you.

I use a small plastic box.
Both keys are locked in this box and I can not recover them without breaking the box.
In case of emergency it is always possible to break the box but as long as there is no urgency I only depend on my KH.

At any time my KH can ask me to show her the box to check that it is not broken and locked.

Interesting.  So both keys are locked up using the combination from the app?  I can also imagine locking one key in the lockbox with the combination from the app and the 2nd key locked in that plastic box.

What if it's not a true emergency, for instance, if you have a doctor appointment to which you don't want to wear your chastity cage but you are still locked.  You might need to remove it temporarily and put it back on after the appointment.

Also, do you mind me asking where you got that plastic box?

Yes both keys are locked with the combination of the app But your solution can work as well. (or with a metal box like "Association cash box" for example).

If there is no real urgency, we can always ask KH to release us temporarily but there are very few cases where we really have to remove the cage (for example an MRI yes, it should not no metal at all, that would be dangerous).
For me, if my Mistress judges that there is no need to remove the cage, I obey her (unless I am convinced that there is a danger to my health) ... Sometimes it forces me to try to explain discreetly to an officer who watches a security gate that I'm wearing a metal cage and that's why the alarm is triggered ... With the shame of being searched in a room next door. ..

My box ... It comes from a time when I did a lot of cycling ... This one I had while participating in the "CHTI bike Tour" (A cycling festival near Lille in France), it was the box that contained the pins to fix the dosart the out of my participation in the race "Laurent Desbien" ...
In fact, it is a keychain that serves as a box condoms.

Hay I'm new here also. Still trying to figure it out.
I take the emergency key and put it on a dollar bill . Rap it in packing tape so the serial number can be read. Then it can be presented to Princess for inspection when ever she wants. Photo or what ever. Then she matches the number with a copy she keep on her phone. Plus you cant get the key out with out it being very obvious.

Nice idea. Thanks.

I have two thoughts for you:

First, remember that this is a game that you want to play, so it's in your interest to respect the "rules". Maybe try just putting it in an envelope, so you are forced to tear it open to access your key- a clear failure on your part to follow the rules. This should be enough ideally. Check out this post by Denying Thumper (IMHO Best Chastity Expert on the Web): https://denyingthumper.com/2015/02/13/the-best-male-chastity-device/ ;)

But let's be real- we all feel the fantasy of wanting to be locked up and unable to get free, but the urge to let ourselves out, to be comfortable and to pleasure ourselves, makes it hard to be "good". So we want to be prevented from accessing our spare key, but we also want the safety of a way out in case of an emergency situation. You'll never get this if you know you can get at your spare key. The answer is to make it difficult, unpleasant and/or costly to get to that key. But it always also needs to be possible to get to the key, to minimize your anxiety.

I've read tons of great/crazy ideas online (try searching "self bondage" forums for tons of ideas). My solution is to use a realtors key lock box. I settled on this model: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002YP1VC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It costs around $20. It's reliable, and if it were used as designed (hanging on a door handle) it would be much easier to break through a door or window to enter a house than it would be to break this lock and access the key inside. I have a bench-mounted vice, and with great effort I can break the case using my vice. I'm pretty sure you could achieve the effect with a large hammer as well. The body is cast metal- squeeze it or beat it enough and it will break.

I know I can always break one of these if necessary, but it will take me a ton of effort, cost me $20+, and most importantly deprive me of my fun chastity key-safe. It keeps me honest, simply because it's too challenging & costly to defeat easily, so I don't. A few times I've messed up setting or recording a combination, and I was able to get out without problem or anxiety. It's a lot easier to enjoy the thrill of locking yourself up when you know you can get out in an emergency, but also know you're not going to use this option unless you really must.

Cheers Buddy ;)

When I was a newbie, I read the "Tips for new users" pinned messages on the ChastiKey Discord forum, and both KH and lockees had several recommendations.  There are plenty of good suggestions, and you can find a solution that fits your budget.

The one I went with was a Wall mounted lockbox found here --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002YP1UI/

I had that box in the last picture and it is good one to start with. It requires you to put in a combination and pull down the lever on the left to test if that combination is correct. It's quite a tough lever, one that you can't hold down while randomly spinning the dials and tugging on the door to try and unlock early if you've forgotten the combination.

I've seen a picture of a brown plastic medicine bottle that was repurposed as an emergency key safe.

With the child-proof cap in place, he drilled two holes: one hole through the side of the cap and the bottle; and the second through the top of the cap. He then removed the top, deposited the keys and then inserted a numbered plastic lock through both holes. The plastic lock prevented the cap from being rotated and removed so the only way to get to the key was to break the plastic lock.
